Apparently this blog turned a year old a few days ago. Touched up a picture I drew months ago.
Happy birthday you big nerds. Here’s more pictures in the future!
Baby Charles and Gran-mama Elizabeth. I am pining for Summer and all Summer related activities.
Also baby owls are one of my favourite things they are just cottonballs with faces look at them.
I needed cheering up and I’ll be working all of Valentines so I drew something really stupid to help. I don’t why they’re shirtless though.
The Griggs family: Ollie, his 3 sisters and their mother. These aren’t of the best quality but I have their designs down at least??
Trying to both draw comics quicker and in a less messy, scribbly manner. It still hasn’t snowed yet here.
How do you make a character whose face is a fluffy circle look old. Who knows.
Another supporting character, Elizabeth, the grandmother and guardian of Charles. More on her later. I tried at least to make her look slightly like a Great Horned Owl whilst Charles slips slowly into genericness.
Two odds and ends. A group picture that I stopped liking and was turned into a scrappy height reference, and the first page of a short comic I never finished (in which Ollie tries to set off fireworks but they get stuck and explode in the garden. Idiot).
How did Charles and Ollie meet? How did they end up becoming a couple?
That’ll be part of what happens in the first few chapters! Rest assured both are embarrassing, horribly co-ordinated events. However I shall give you a couple of possible options.
#none of these are what actually happens
- They meet in a train carriage which also carries a gang of football hooligans
- They meet in the disgusting cramped basement of a shoddy nightclub
- They meet in the bland sprawl of a campus cafeteria
- They meet in the tinned produce isle in Tescos
